SEMINOLE NATION PUBLIC TRANSIT

 Mission Statement

The Mission of the Seminole Nation Public Transit is to provide safe, reliable transportation to all citizens of Seminole County. We dedicate ourselves to serve with a pleasant attitude consistent with our stewardship of the Nation’s trust and resources.

 Vision Statement

The vision of the Seminole Nation Public Transit is to continue to assist the citizens of Seminole County with access to Employment, HealthCare, Nutrition and Education. We strive to be recognized as a primary contributor to the quality of life and happiness of our passengers, our tribal people and our employees.


 Profile

 The Seminole Nation Public Transit has been operating in Seminole County since 2007. This service is a demand response service available to the general public.  The Public Transit staff strives to:

1)         Provide excellent customer service by transporting customers promptly and safely to their destinations.

2)         Provide courteous, friendly service as we schedule your ride over the phone.  

 Seminole Nation Public Transit receives Administration, Operating and Capital funding under the Section 5311c Rural Public Transportation Program from Federal Transit Administration (FTA).

As a Direct Recipientof Federal Funding, Seminole Nation Public Transit must be in compliance with Federal Transit Administration (FTA), U.S. Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).


Hours of operation, routes and fares are subject to change. Please contact the Transit Dispatch for up-to-date information regarding services and fees.


PUBLIC TRANSIT OPERATING SCHEDULE

Public Transit Service hours are:

Weekdays:  6:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Weekends & Holidays:  None

 

Dispatch Office hours are:

Weekdays:  8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Weekends & Holidays:  None

Seminole Nation Public Transit Office hours are:

Weekdays:  8:00 AM – 12:00 PM; 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Weekends & Holidays:  None

 HOW TO SCHEDULE A RIDE

  • Call the Dispatch office - 24 hours in advance and before 3 PM.  We encourage you to call 2-3 days ahead of your appointment as we book quickly.

  • After 3 PM:
    • Please leave a message with your name and phone number.  The Dispatcher will return your call to confirm your ride.
    • Messages left for next day pick-ups will not be scheduled.
    • If you need to cancel your ride for the following day, leave a message.
  • Rides are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Requests for same day service or same day modifications to scheduled rides are not allowed.

NO SHOW POLICY & CANCELLATIONS

A cancellation is when a passenger calls the Transit Dispatcher 2 hours BEFORE the pick-up time.  If you get voice mail, leave a message. If no cancellation notice is given and a passenger does not show at the pick-up location, this is considered a NO SHOW.  If a passenger establishes a pattern or practice of missing scheduled trips, he or she may be suspended from services.

This service is a demand response service available to the general public.  The Public Transit staff strives to provide excellent customer service by transporting customers promptly and safely to their destinations.  Call the Public Transit Dispatcher to make your request from 8 AM – 3 PM, Mon-Fri except on holidays.  Same day requests are not permitted, a 24 hour notice is required for all ride requests:
