Seminole Nation Communications Department
The Communications Department is responsible for the dissemination of information to Seminole Nation Tribal members and surrounding communities. The overall objective is to alert members to the news, events, services and activities of the Nation through a wide range of media on local, state and national levels.The Communications Department of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma (TSNO) is located at 630 North Main Street, Seminole Oklahoma. The office produces the monthly Cokv Tvlvme, the tribe's official newspaper, social media management, event marketing and current affairs publication. Distribution of the publication remains around 3,000 copies. The department's subscription list for newspaper mailings is approximately 2,158 and continues to be updated as needed. In house copies of the publications are distributed throughout Seminole County at various locations, including the Seminole Nation's many offices and businesses. The last day to submit anything for the Cokv Tvlvme is the 3rd friday of every month.
The Communication Department post upcoming events, record the weekly radio program, and generally keep tribal members abreast of upcoming events and important information related to the tribe's many service-oriented programs on the website and on social media platforms.
In addition to the tribal website (www.sno-nsn.gov), the Communications Department also maintains the tribe's Facebook page (www.facebook.com/seminolenation), twitter (@SeminoleNation_) and on Instagram (semnatoklahoma) webpages.
The Communications Department is in current development with Information Technology (IT) to streamline and update a more synchronized approach in managing the tribe's official web and social media networking sites.
The radio program broadcasts every Tuesday at 11 0'clock, the AM 1260 and now FM 97.7 KWSH. The radio program highlights the programs, services, events and people of TSNO. The Communication Department has expanded mobile coverage on more events, by conducting more interviews and photo-journalism reports while in the field.
Our profile pieces have highlighted a range of tribal members from tribal members receiving awards, accomplished goals and/or have important information to address the Nation.
The Communication Department continues to record Seminole Nation General Council Meetings, hosted on the tribal website - www.sno-nsn.gov. These can be viewed online at any time on www.YouTube.com "The Seminole Nation of Oklahoma Live Stream."
